<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain a wide visual field angle, without causing reduction in the effective numerical aperture, in a liquid crystal display element of vertical alignment mode. <P>SOLUTION: In a manufacturing method of the liquid crystal display element, including a driving substrate 2 on which a pixel electrode 1, is formed, a counter substrate 4 which faces the driving substrate 2 and on which a counter electrode 3 is formed and a liquid crystal, interposed between the driving substrate and the counter substrate 4; the pixel electrode 1 is formed in a rectangular shape; an incision 8 is formed to be parallel to the short side of the pixel electrode 1 and protrusions 6 are provided on the counter substrate 4, according to respective rectangular regions of the pixel electrode 1 partitioned by the incision 8 and the sides of the pixel electrode 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
