<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve miniaturization by simple configurations, and to highly precisely detect a wide range distance even when configuring components are configured of general-purpose articles or easily available components. <P>SOLUTION: Two hall sensors 32a and 32b whose magnetic sensing directions are perpendicular to a substrate on which those two hall sensors 32a and 32b are arranged are set as a pair, and a magnet whose N pole and S pole are magnetized perpendicular to the substrate is arranged so as to be movably supported in parallel with a straight line connecting the centers of the hall sensors 32a and 32b and the substrate. This position detection device is provided with a signal processing circuit for, when the outputs of the two hall sensors 32a and 32b are respectively defined as Va and Vb, dividing the moving range of the magnet into three, and for carrying out position detection by properly using (Va-Vb) or (Va-Vb)/(Va+Vb), (Va-Vb)/(nVa+mVb), and (Va-Vb)/(mVa+nVb) (the absolute values of n and m are real numbers which are not the same value). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
