PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve processing efficiency by making the time to move a head unit from a recognition completion position to the upper position of a most front mounting position shortest without upsizing a device or raising cost, in a mounting device for moving the head unit to the upper part of the most front mounting position of a substrate after component recognition. SOLUTION: In a drive control method of the head unit, two of first drive control and second drive control are prepared as the drive control forms of the head unit by an X axis servo motor (first axis drive part) after the component recognition is completed. Then, by comparing an angleθindicating the position relation of an image read part 80, the recognition completion position R of a most front mounting component and a most front mounting part P1 with a reference angleθth, whether the most front mounting component belongs to an area A is determined, and the first drive control and the second drive control are selectively executed on the basis of the determined result.
