PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for transferring a semiconductor laser element stably sucking and holding the semiconductor laser element without needing high positioning accuracy, a joint device, and a transferring method. SOLUTION: The device 10 for transferring a semiconductor laser element comprises an initial position mounting base 16, a suction part 17, and a displacement/drive part 18. The suction part 17 is arranged to face the initial position mounting base 16 and can approach to and separating from the initial position mounting base 16. A suction surface 21 is formed at the suction part 17. The shape and the size of the suction surface 21 are set to a shape and a size including the shape and the size of a suction object surface 22. The suction object surface 22 is a surface of a semiconductor laser element 15 mounted to an initial position mounting surface 19. Through-holes 26 are formed at the suction surface 21.
