PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface plate mounting structure for firmly holding a surface plate to a backing part to prevent falling-off even if instantaneous force such as external load or a quake of an earthquake works on it. SOLUTION: In a mounting structure 17 of the surface plate 9 mounted to a backing material 3 of a building skeleton 1, the backing material 3 includes metal mesh 7, and the surface plate 9 includes a magnetic sheet 13 mounted to the metal mesh 7, and a cured elastic body 15 fixed to the backing material 3 and elastically deformable. With this constitution, magnetic force and resilience can be utilized in combination to firmly hold the surface plate 9 to the backing material, thereby preventing falling-off.
