PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for producing coiled carbon fibers, which does not need to carry out solid carbon removing work even when it is operated for a long period of time, can continuously produce coiled carbon fibers for a long period of time, and has excellent durability. SOLUTION: The apparatus 1 for producing coiled carbon fibers includes a reactor 2, an introduction pipe 3 which is inserted into the reactor 2 and feeds a raw material gas into the reactor 2, and a substrate 4 coated with a catalyst comprising metal powder. The introduction pipe 3 has a plurality of inlets 8 opened for feeding the raw material gas into the reactor, and the raw material gas fed from the inlets 8 is thermally decomposed, whereby coiled carbon fibers are grown on the substrate 4.
