PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding bearing and a bearing device capable of effectively discharging a foreign matter in order to prevent the foreign matter from entering a sliding surface of the sliding bearing. SOLUTION: In the sliding bearing 1, an axial groove 6 is formed in a combining surface 5 of an upper half split bearing 2 and a lower half-split bearing 3, so that the foreign matter arriving at the circumferential end at the front side of a relatively rotational direction of a crankshaft 10, rolling on the groove bottom of a circumferential groove 4 in the upper half-split bearing 2 easily enters the axial groove 6 communicating with the groove bottom surface of the circumferential end, and the foreign matter having entered the axial groove 6 can be discharged to width-direction end faces 2c, 3c side of the half-split bearings 2, 3. Therefore, the foreign matter present inside the sliding bearing 1 is not caught in an inner peripheral surface 2a side of the lower half-split bearing 3, and the foreign matter can be prevented from entering the sliding surface of the sliding bearing 1.
