<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mounting method for a sound-absorption material and a tire/wheel assembly enhancing rim-assembling property of a tire in the tire/wheel assembly in which the sound-absorption material is arranged on an outer peripheral surface of a rim in a tire cavity part and preventing damage to the sound-absorption material. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the mounting method for the sound-absorption material 3 and the tire/wheel assembly, prior to rim-assembling of the tire, the sound-absorption material 3 is covered by a membrane-like member 4 in the contracted state and is attached to the outer peripheral surface 2a of the rim 2. At rim-assembling of the tire, after the pneumatic tire 1 is attached to the outer peripheral surface 2a of the rim 2 in the state that it straddles the membrane-like member 4, air is pressure-fed toward the inside of the membrane-like member 4.
