<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve sound absorbing performance, especially, for low to middle sound region, while making a whole body thin, and reducing an area of a vibration object. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A sound absorbing body 10 comprises a case 11 and the vibration object 12 attached to the case 11. The case 11 includes a peripheral wall 14 in which an air layer 18 is formed inside, a bottom wall 15 connected to one end side of the circumferential wall 14, and a top wall 16 connected to the other end side of the circumferential wall 14 in which an aperture 16A is formed in its face. The vibration object 12 covers a whole area of the aperture 16A. An opening area of the aperture 16A is set smaller than an area of the air layer 18 in viewing in a plane.
