<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To absorb an installing error of a panel for covering a vehicle body fixing member such as a shift lever device in relation to a mounted member such as an instrument panel. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This installing structure includes the mounted member and the vehicle body fixing member 10 fixed to the frame 22 of a vehicle body 21, and the panel 30 for covering at least part of an external surface of the vehicle body fixing member 10, a displacement allowing support part 40, and engaging parts 50A and 50B. The displacement allowing support part 40 supports the panel, while allowing a relative displacement of the panel in relation to the vehicle body fixing member.
