PURPOSE: A method and a system for checking insulation of a pouch electric cell are provided to support the outer circumference of a pouch, to obtain high reliability, and to automate the test for an insulating property of a pouch electric cell. CONSTITUTION: A method for checking insulation of a pouch electric cell comprises: a loading step(S100) for loading the pouch electric cell on a lower support supporting the lower side of the pouch battery cell; a contact step(S120) for contacting a probe with the side portion of a pouch and an electrode; a measurement step(S130) for measuring electrical values between the contacted probes; and a determination step(S140) for determining the insulation property by comparing the measured electrical values and reference.
