PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator safety system capable of ensuring the reliability while reducing wiring. SOLUTION: The elevator safety system includes: at least one input/output node 2 which is connected to at least one sensor 5 or a switch 4 and generates a sign-redundant message 10 from a state of the sensor 5 or the switch 4 using an error detection sign; a single transmission passage 3 which is connected to the input/output node 2 and transmits/receives the message 10; and a safety braking unit 1 which is connected to the transmission passage 3, a hoist 6 and a brake 7, and processes the message 10 transmitted from the input/output node 2, and brakes the hoist 6 and the brake 7 when determining any dangerous state.
