METHOD OF CREATING LOOK-UP TABLE, AND PRINTING APPARATUS

<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily create a look-up table (LUT) and to improve a performance of color conversion using the LUT. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A CPU 40b of a printer 20b selects either a fundamental LUT 64b, wherein colors related to an output value are CMYKLkLLk, or a fundamental 65b, wherein colors related to an output value are CMYKRB, in such a way that each of types of available ink colors (CMYKLkLLkRB) is coincident with one of the colors related to the output value of any fundamental LUT. The CPU 40b then uses a coupling ratio α to generate new one LUT by coupling output values at lattice points in the selected fundamental LUT and uses the new LUT to perform color conversion processing, wherein the coupling ratio α is determined in accordance with positions of the lattice points.
