PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, a device and a program for image analysis which enable easy estimation of the size of a foodstuff from an image, without copying a thing of a known size into the image, together with a meal. SOLUTION: This method for the image analysis using a computer 10 includes a first specifying step which specifies the foodstuff satisfying characteristic conditions from the image, referring to a first recording means 62 wherein the characteristic conditions including the color and the shape of the foodstuff are recorded, a second specifying step which specifies the size of the foodstuff specified in the first specifying step, referring to a second recording means 64 wherein the size of the foodstuff is recorded, and a display step which displays, together with the image, a measure for visual estimation on the image of a full-scale size of the foodstuff included in the image, based on the size of the foodstuff specified in the second step.
