PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detection method of atopic dermatitis using a marker and a screening method of a prevention or therapy agent for atopic dermatitis. SOLUTION: The detection method of atopic dermatitis includes measuring an expression level of periostin gene or an amount of periostin protein in bio samples. The screening method of prevention or therapy agent for atopic dermatitis includes culturing a cell with an ability to produce periostin in the presence of a candidate substance and measuring an expression level of periostin gene or an amount of periostin protein.
