<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide ink for inkjet recording improving ejection reliability of an inkjet printer without performing operation of a reliability-retaining system such as wiping or capping of the ink ejection nozzle surface as much as possible; and to provide a method for inkjet recording using the ink. <P>SOLUTION: (1) The ink for inkjet recording contains water, a colorant, an acidic compound, a volatile alkaline compound and a water-soluble resin which is rendered low viscosity and high viscosity by means of the acidic compound and the volatile alkaline compound, respectively. (2) The ink for inkjet recording according to (1) contains an organic acid as the acidic compound. (3) The ink for inkjet recording according to (1) or (2) comprises an alkylamine having 1-2C alkyl as the volatile alkaline compound.
