<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video encoding apparatus and method, capable of accurately associating the timing of two pieces of compression data having different bands. <P>SOLUTION: The video encoding apparatus includes: a clock generation section, an instruction section for instructing start timing; a first encoding section for encoding a video to generate first compression data having a first band, synchronizing a random access point of the first compression data to the start timing, and imparting time information based on a clock to the random access point of the first compression data; and a second encoding section for encoding a video to generate second compression data having a second band narrower than the first band, synchronizing a random access point of the second compression data to the start timing, acquiring time information of the random access point of the first compression data, and imparting the time information to the random access point of the second compression data synchronized to the random access point of the first compression data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
