<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a steel cord low in magnetic level and smooth in magnetic field distribution. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing the steel cord includes applying a static magnetic field of not less than 4,000 A/m to the steel cord during winding up, or the method for producing a steel cord includes contacting a magnet or an electromagnet having a surface magnetism not less than 5 mT to the steel cord during winding up.
