PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of efficiently manufacturing, with good cutting properties, pellets of a polylactic acid-based composition having excellent blocking and bleeding resistances. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the pellets of the polylactic acid-based composition comprising a polylactic acid-based resin, a plasticizer, and crystal nuclei includes: a process (1) of melting and kneading a composition raw material comprising the polylactic acid-based resin, a plasticizer, and the crystal nuclei in a kneader, and extruding strand from a die of the kneader; a process (2) of cooling the strand prepared by the process (1) in a liquid medium of 40°C or lower for 1.6-5 s; and a process (3) of keeping the strand having been cooled in the process (2) in an atmosphere of 45°C or lower for 3-9 s.
