The invention relates to liquid aqueous herbicide compositions containing: (a) 1% to 40% by weight of one or more water-soluble active ingredients selected from group consisting of compounds of formula (1) or salts thereofin which Zis a radical of the formula -OM, -NHCH(CH)CONHCH(CH)COM or NHCH(CH)CONHCH[CHCH(CH)]COM where M=H or a salt-forming cation, (b) 0 to 50% by weight of optionally polar organic solvents, (c) 1% to 80% by weight of anionic surfactants, (d) 0 to 20% by weight of nonionic, cationic and/or zwitterionic surfactants, (e) 0.02% to 10% by weight of silicone-based defoamers from the group of the linear polydimethylsiloxanes having an average dynamic viscosity, measured at 25°C, in the range from 1000 to 8000 mPas, and containing silicic acid in the range from 0.1 to 10% by weight based on the weight of polydimethylsiloxane, (f) 0 to 30% by weight of customary formulation assistants, (h) 0.1% to 90% by weight of water. Said composition can be prepared by mixing the (a) - (f) components with water (g) component. The invention relates also to a method of controlling unwanted plant growth, which comprises applying an effective amount of a crop protectant composition to plants, to parts of plants or to the area under cultivation. |
