The device (8) has two electrodes (3, 4) that are in contact with a body (1). A control circuit (10) is connected to the electrodes for measuring a capacity of a capacitor formed of two carcasses separated by a dielectric material. One of the electrodes includes an insulating unit arranged between the body and an electric conductor i.e. copper wire. The insulating unit covers the electric conductor, where the electric conductor is surrounded by an insulated sheath and coiled. An independent claim is also included for a method for measuring humidity of body.
