<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce unnecessary power consumption of a cross-connect apparatus when actual line capacity is small. <P>SOLUTION: The cross-connect apparatus that divides a signal supplied from a transmission line into a plurality of paths by channels at an interface portion and supplies them to a plurality of cross-connect sections, multiplexes the respective paths having been subjected to cross-connect processing at the plurality of cross-connect sections at the interface section and puts them back to the original channel, and transmits the multiplexed paths to the transmission line, includes a control unit that determines an operation mode wherein the number of divided paths at the interface section according to actual line capacity supplied from the transmission line and a cross-connect section to perform the cross-connect processing are indicated, controls the interface section, and stops the operation of cross-connect sections which do not carry out the cross-connect processing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
