<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for preventing overheat of an internal combustion engine by improving cooling performance, in the control device of an outboard motor having a torque converter. <P>SOLUTION: This control device of the outboard motor is inserted between the internal combustion engine (an engine) and a drive shaft, and has the torque converter having a lockup clutch and a water pump connected to a drive shaft and cooling the internal combustion engine driven by the drive shaft, and increases a driving rotating speed of the water pump by turning on the lockup clutch of the torque converter (S40) when detecting that a shift mechanism exists in a neutral position (S10). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
