<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of designing and manufacturing an inner-surface progressive refractive-power lens having appropriate curve fitting feeling and machinability, regardless of addition of the lens. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the method of manufacturing the progressive refractive-power lens having a front surface constituted of a spherical surface with a predetermined lens curve and a rear surface including a progressive surface, a plurality of kinds of material blocks 10 different in base curve are prepared. In the case of determining the depth of the lens curve corresponding to the peculiar addition prescribed for each of the users with reference to a predetermined lens power prescribed for each of the users, a plurality of kinds of lens curves corresponding to the kinds of the base curves of the material blocks 10 are prepared, and the depth of the lens curve becomes variable corresponding to the peculiar addition. As the peculiar addition is larger, the deeper lens curve is selected, and the material block 10 corresponding to the selected lens curve is selected out of the plurality of kinds of material blocks 10, and then, machined.
