PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an annular-plane elastic body which is adaptive to sealing portions of various dimensions using the annular-plane elastic body formed by blanking an elastic member, and to provide a roller periphery sealing method using annular-plane elastic body. SOLUTION: While the inner circumferential part 65 of the annular-plane elastic body 61 is pressed wide outwards in the direction of a diameter, it is fitted on the circular periphery of the end 62a of the roller 62. The inner circumferential part 65 is slid in the direction of a sealing groove 63 along the periphery of the roller 62 and is caused to fall into the sealing groove 63. The inner circumferential part 65 is folded in the direction of a side of the roller 62 by its being turned as shown by arrows m and n so that the inner circumferential part 65 is pressed against one inner wall (e.g., 63b) of the sealing groove 63 and the flat plane 66 of the annular-plane elastic body 61 is directed outward in the direction of the side of the roller 62. A thumb (or an index finger) inserted between the reflecting face 67 of the flat face 66 of the annular-plane elastic body 61 and the sealing groove 63 is pulled out.
