<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cordless telephone system capable of transferring and registering items common to a transmission source and a transfer destination in the cordless telephone system where phonebook data can be transferred between a master unit and a slave unit or among a plurality of slave units, without deleting an exceeded part, even if the upper limitation is different for the number of recording. Ž<P>SOLUTION: If the upper limitation for the number of recording about a predetermined item (for example, subject name: telephone number) is smaller for a slave unit 30a (transfer destination) than a slave unit 30b (transmission source), individual data for an identical person is added to the slave unit 30a by a required number. A plurality of telephone numbers of the slave unit 30b are divided and distributed to the individual data for registration. Thereby, each of a plurality of telephone number information currently recorded in the individual data stored at the slave unit 30b can be registered into the slave unit 30a without missing.
