PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deterioration of a protection layer or a phosphor in a plasma display panel by sufficiently removing an impurity gas such as water or hydrocarbon. SOLUTION: The plasma display panel includes a front substrate 1 having a plurality of display electrodes formed thereon; a back substrate 6 disposed in opposition to the front substrate 1 so as to form a discharge space, and having a plurality of data electrodes 7 formed thereon so as to intersect with the display electrodes; and a partition wall 9 formed on the back substrate 6 so as to define the discharge space, and having red, green and blue phosphor layers 10 arranged thereon.
