PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video image display system and display device consuming as small power as possible. SOLUTION: A reproducing device 120 is turned on when a display object on a display device 110 is switched to a reproducing video signal output by the reproducing device 120. Also, the reproducing device 120 is turned off by a control section 113 when the display object is switched from the reproducing video signal output by the reproducing device 120 to the other display objects on the display device 110.
