<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for evaluating a lubricating film for forging, by which an environment in which the lubricating film can be exposed in a multistage working process can be expressed. Ž<P>SOLUTION: By applying swaging by which a columnar test piece 4 made of metal is held and pressed at a fixed stroke from the lower end face 1b of an upper die 1 and the upper end face 2a of a lower die 2, the side face 4c of the test piece 4 is swelled out large in a barrel shape. Next, by performing backward extrusion at a fixed stroke stepwise or continuously, severe working is performed in a such form that the swelled-out side face 4c by swaging is turned into the rear.
