The element (23) has a wooden insert with a zone for receiving bristles of the element. A plastic shell (19) is over-molded around the insert such that an exterior surface of the insert is partly covered by the shell without covering the zone of the insert. A head contacts with the shell and cooperates with a handle, where an exterior surface of the shell includes decorative patterns (25). The shell includes a slot defining a zone on a side of the insert, where a pattern or text e.g. product mark, is engraved on the zone defined by the slot. An independent claim is also included for a method for fabricating a brushing element.
