<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bag installing structure which allows an expanding part of an air bag (that is, an air bag element) to be deployed without causing elastomeric deformation in a vehicular interior material. <P>SOLUTION: The air bag installing structure 15 comprises a vehicular interior material 36 that covers a side curtain air bag 35. The vehicular interior member 36 is equipped with a pillar garnish 41 that covers the tether strap 72 of the side curtain air bag 35, and with a guide 42 provided with the pillar garnish 41 while enabling the pillar garnish 41 to be mounted to the front pillar 12. The mounting of the guide 42 on the pillar garnish allows the tether strap 72 to be guided by the guide 42 to a second gap 59 formed between the pillar garnish 41 and the front pillar 12. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
