<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the yield in the manufacture of a commutator. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A semimanufacture 8 for forming band-shaped conductive parts and risers for the commutator consists of a rectangle 8a as a plurality of band-shaped conductive parts 4, protrusions 5 formed by protrusions from one end sides in the longitudinal direction of the band-shaped conductive parts in the rectangle and L-shaped arms 8b extended in fixed lengths to the sides from the protrusions and bent at a right angle to the rectangular side. Further extensions in the projecting direction from the protrusions are removed, so that the lengths of raw materials in the longitudinal direction in the band-shaped conductive parts can be shortened. The extensions in the cross direction of the band-shaped conductive parts from the protrusions within the range of the lengths of the protrusions are formed, and the extensions are left in punching from the raw materials, thus further reducing wastes by punching to improve the yield.
