PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a particle beam treatment apparatus provided with a PET detector for detecting aγray generated from a subject which can be irradiated with a particle beam from an optional direction. SOLUTION: The particle beam treatment apparatus includes: a top plate rotation part 106 for rotating a top plate 110; a top plate moving part 108 for translationally moving the top plate 110 in a direction parallel to or orthogonal to a plane including a body axis direction; a particle beam irradiation part 103 for irradiating the subject with the particle beam; an irradiation nozzle rotation part 104 for rotationally moving the particle beam irradiation part 103; a PET detection part 201 which is disposed between the particle beam irradiation part 103 and the subject so as to surround the subject in a roughly cylindrical shape, is provided with an opening for making the particle beam from the particle beam irradiation part 103 pass through, and detects theγray generated from the subject; a first support arm 203 rotatably holding the PET detector to the shaft in the irradiation direction of the particle beam; a second support arm 205 for holding the PET detection part 201 rotatably around the body axis; and an image forming part 202 for generating images on the basis of theγray detected in the PET detection part 201.
