<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double-tank oil pan that prevents deterioration in the lubricating performance and the cooling performance of an internal combustion engine, and can use oil over a long period of time. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The double-tank oil pan includes an oil pan body 31 provided at a lower end of an engine block 12, an oil separator 34 that partitions the oil pan body 31 into an internal chamber 32 and an external chamber 33 both communicating with the engine block 12, an oil strainer 21 that sucks up oil in the internal chamber 32, a communication hole 37a that is formed at a recess 37 of the oil separator 34 and allows communication between the internal chamber 32 and the external chamber 33, and a thermostat 35 that allows communication and isolation between the engine block 12 and the external chamber 33 based on an oil temperature.
