[Also in Division F2] In a door operating device the linkage interconnecting a rotatable door driving pin 3 and a door driving or controlling means 1, 11 having a linear stroke comprises a lever arm 13 secured to the pin and pivoted to a link 6 which is in turn pivoted to a further lever 5 at a pivot 4 on the further lever serving as the point of articulation between the further lever and the means, the further lever being rotatable about a fixed pivot 7 on operation of the means and the arrangement being such that at one end of the stroke of the means the pivots 4 and 7 and the pivot 14 between the lever arm 13 and the link 6 are at least approximately in alignment. Preferably the means comprises an hydraulically operated piston and cylinder adapted to open the door, a spring 2 being provided to close the door. Alternatively, the device may be used in an ordinary door closer. The end position of the piston stroke, and consequently the nearness of the lever 5 and link 6 to dead centre, can be adjusted by means of a stop ring 16 screwed on to the cylinder 11 to abut a stop pin 15 on the piston rod. The same effect can be achieved by adjusting the position of the pivot 12 on which the cylinder 11 is mounted, or by adjusting the pivot 7 transversely to the lever 5. The pivot 7 is eccentrically mounted on a baseplate (not shown) so that it can also be adjusted in the direction of the length of the lever 5 to alter the angular position of the door pin 3 and thereby adjust the closed position of the door. The device may be rotatably mounted in an assembly box or frame. |
