PURPOSE: A method for switching an external input mode of a television is provided to selectively convert an external input mode according to the predetermined external input mode when an external device is connected. CONSTITUTION: When an external device is connected(S10), a control unit confirms whether an external input mode is converted or not(S20,S30). The control unit converts a current mode to the external input mode according to a conversion mode of an external device(S40). The conversion of the external input mode is individually instituted about each external input mode. The external input mode is set up according priority.
