PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for predicting a sound source location are provided to three-dimensionally predict a location of a sound source using a small number of microphones, thereby reducing hardware size and calculation quantity. CONSTITUTION: An obtaining unit(100) obtains the nth mutual correlation value sequences about the nth microphone pairs. A mapping function applying unit(110) assigns mutual correlation values of the nth mutual correlation value sequences to corresponding coordinates of the nth coordinate system according to a preset nth mapping function. An estimating unit(120) estimates the direction of a sound source based on the allocation result. |
