<p>Provided is a manual type surveying instrument, which can perform collimating operations easily and measurements of high precision for a short time period. The manual type surveying instrument comprises a collimation assisting device (70) including a collimation light transmitting system for emitting a collimated light (R) along a collimation axis (O) toward a target disposed at a point of measurement, an area sensor (80) for acquiring the image of a scene caught in the visual field of a collimating telescope (3), a display unit (48) for displaying the image, a collimation light detecting unit (82) for detecting the target by receiving the collimation light reflected on the target, by the area sensor, and an arithmetic and control unit (46) for displaying an area (94), the distance of which can be measured within a predetermined deviation from the collimation axis, and a symbol indicating the target, as animation images on the display unit, and for deciding the collimation completion when the target is caught in the area of which the distance can be measured by the manual operation of the collimating telescope, thereby performing measurement of distance and angle and correcting the goniometric value in accordance with the deviation of the target from the collimation axis.</p> |
