BINDER FOR ELECTRODE OF NONAQUEOUS ELECTROLYTE SECONDARY BATTERY, ELECTRODE, AND NONAQUEOUS ELECTROLYTE SECONDARY BATTERY

Disclosed is a binder for electrodes of nonaqueous electrolyte secondary batteries which is composed of a copolymer wherein a group of an acid containing a nitrogen group element or a chalcogen element or a salt thereof is contained in an amount of 0.0005-0.05 mol per 100g of the copolymer. This binder is excellent in dispersibility of an electrode active material. Also disclosed is an electrode for nonaqueous electrolyte secondary batteries which is obtained by bonding an active material layer, which is formed by using an electrode composition containing the binder and an electrode active material, to a collector. Such an electrode is filled with the active electrode material at high density, and has excellent surface smoothness. Further disclosed is a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprising such an electrode which is excellent in rate characteristics and cycle characteristics.
