PURPOSE: A device for measuring wear of a polishing wheel of a polishing machine is provided to precisely measure the abrasion of the polishing wheel by sensing the vertical movement of the roller contacted with the polishing wheel. CONSTITUTION: A device for measuring wear of a polishing wheel of a polishing machine comprises a roller(11), a guide bar(12), a cylinder block(13), a cylinder(14), and a linear encoder(19). The roller is contacted with a polishing wheel(10) and vertically moves according to the abrasion. The guide bar supports the both ends of the roller. The cylinder block catches the guide bar of the both sides. The rod of the cylinder is connected to the cylinder block. The rod of the cylinder moves the guide bar and the cylinder block. The linear encoder senses the translation distance of the roller. The linear encoder is composed of a scale(17) and a reader head(18). The scale is supported by a head frame(16). The reader head moves with the cylinder block. |
