PURPOSE: A composition containing sialyloligosaccharide compound for treating and preventing eye diseases is provided to suppress expression and activation of inflammation-mediated materials in corneal epithelial cells. CONSTITUTION: A composition for preventing or treating eye diseases contains a compound of formula I(S-(MS)p-(MS)q), salt, hydrate, or solvate thereof. Eye diseases are scheroma, inflammatory eye disease, retinal neovascularization, and side effects caused by using contact lens. Inflammatory eye disease is meibomian gland insufficiency, Stevens Johnson syndrome, Sjogren syndrome, uveitis or the inflammation of the cornea. The composition is a pharmaceutical composition. The pharmaceutical composition is used in the form of solution, suspension, syrup, emulsion, liposome, powder, granule, tablet, sustained release formulation, eye drop, capsule, contact lens cleanser, or contact lens lubricant. |
