WATER-MIXED FUEL, ADDITIVE-MODIFIED FUEL OIL, ADDITIVE, AND METHODS FOR PRODUCTION OF SAME

Disclosed are: an additive which can achieve homogeneous oil/water dispersion to improve combustion efficiency and can stabilize the homogeneous oil/water dispersion for a long period; an additive-modified fuel oil and a water-mixed fuel each produced by adding the additive; and methods for producing these products. Specifically disclosed is a method for producing an additive which is intended to be added to a fuel oil to produce a water-mixed fuel or a water-unmixed modified fuel oil that is a precursor of the water-mixed fuel.  The method comprises the steps of: dissolving an alcohol having a relatively low molecular weight in a fatty acid or an alcohol having a relatively high molecular weight to produce an intermediate product (1); adding a surfactant to the intermediate product (1) to produce an intermediate product (2); adding an amine compound or both an amine compound and ethylene glycol to the intermediate product (2) to produce an intermediate product (3); and adding aqueous ammonia or an ammonia gas to the intermediate product (3) to produce the desired additive.
