<p>The size of a surface acoustic wave resonator is reduced by improving the Q value. A surface acoustic wave resonator (1) is provided with an IDT (12), which has electrode fingers that excite surface acoustic waves, on a quartz substrate (11). A value obtained by dividing the width of one electrode finger by the dimension between the center lines of the intervals between the electrode finger and the adjacent electrode fingers on the both sides is set as a line occupying ratio, and the IDT (12) is provided with a region wherein frequency is reduced toward the both end sections from the center section, compared with the frequency at the center section of the IDT (12), by sequentially changing the line occupying ratio toward the both end sections from the center section.</p> |
