Disclosed is a graphical piece that can impart an experience of interest and strangeness by filling a plane by an act of assembling individual graphics without gaps and that also has the ability to function as an intellectually engaging material. A graphical piece (10) for tessellation, the surface area of which is accommodated within an equilateral triangle (ET), consists of a graphic representing a flying bird wherein: the tip of the beak (11) is disposed at an apex (A); the top end (13a) of the trailing edge of the tail feathers (13) is disposed at an apex (B); a first curve (L1), which reaches from the tip of the beak (11) to the tip of the wing (12) via the leading edge (12a) of the wing, and a second curve (L2), which reaches from the tip of the beak (11) to the bottom end (13b) of the trailing edge of the tail feathers (13), are identical curves that 60° radially symmetric centered on the apex (A); a third curve (L3) of the wing trailing edge (12b), which reaches from the tip of the wing (12) to a lower back (17), includes two small curves (L3a, L3b) that are 180° radially symmetric centered on the intersection (D) of the wing trailing edge (12b) and the edge between the second apex (B) and a third apex (C); a fourth curve (L4), which reaches from the lower back (17) to the top end (13a) of the trailing edge of the tail feathers (13), and a fifth curve (L5) of the trailing edge of the tail feathers (13) are identical curves that are 120° radially symmetric centered on the apex (B); and the surface area of the equilateral triangle (ET) and the surface area of the graphical piece (10) are identical surface areas.
|
