PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for determining input in a computing equipment with a touch screen are provided to enable a user to perform touch input with his/her fingers by controlling a key input recognition region according to the type of a touch input. CONSTITUTION: If touch input occurs through a touch screen(202), a recognition unit(204) identifies the touch input type. If the input type is finger touch input, a control unit(206) expands at least one key input recognition region and judges the key input based on the extended key input recognition section. The touch screen confirms the input position, and pressure degree and distribution of touch input. The recognition unit identifies the input type by suing the input position, and pressure degree and distribution of touch input.
