Provided is an optical sheet that is used on a surface of a display element. The optical sheet comprises a functional layer on at least one surface of a transparent substrate, and a diffusion component on the outermost surface of and/or in the functional layer, and satisfies Inequality (I): 1.92<?<5.11     (I) wherein ? is diffusion angle exhibiting 1/10 of the diffusion intensity obtained by extrapolating a straight line joining the reflection intensity at the diffusion regular reflection ± 2 degrees and the reflection intensity at the diffusion regular reflection ± 1 degree at the diffusion regular reflection angle.
