The device (1) has a current measurement unit (11) for determining a value of intensity of a current applied at an interface (2) and flowing via a control element (12). The control element compares the determined value with a reference value set by a presetting unit (3). The control element controls the intensity via an adjusting element (13), based on the comparison. A current measurement unit (21) of a control unit (20) and the former measurement unit are connected in series. The latter measurement unit determines another value of the intensity.
