PURPOSE: A torque converter for a vehicle is provided to reduce manufacturing costs by inserting a friction material assembly and a turbine driven plate into the circumference part of a damper drive plate. CONSTITUTION: An impeller(6) is combined in a front cover(4). A turbine(8) is arranged in the location which is faced with the impeller. A reactor changes the flow of the oil coming out from the turbine into the side of the impeller. A lock-up clutch(14) comprises a piston A torsional damper(20) is combined in the lock-up clutch. The torsional damper comprises a damper front plate, a damper rear plate, a plurality of elastic members, a damper drive plate, and a turbine driven plate. The friction material assembly is arranged between the front cover and the piston.
