The invention relates to a method for regulating the power consumed in a power grid (1), wherein an entity (20) performs actions leading to a reduction in the consumption of consumers (2-6) eligible for said actions with a view to reducing overall electric power consumption, characterised in that: - every eligible consumer (2-6) informs said entity (20) of the following parameters: the acceptable maximum duration (Dl, D2, D3) of said action; the acceptable minimum delay (Al, A2, A3) before launching said action, from a given instant; and the acceptable maximum value (Pl, P2, P3) for the reduction of consumed electric power for the duration of the action; - the entity (20) selects a subset of eligible consumers according to a combination of said parameters submitted by the eligible consumers and the desired overall power reduction (23); - the entity performs a series of individual actions involving the consumers (2-6) of said subset.
