PURPOSE: A method for providing a communication service by using an internet protocol television is provided to satisfy various service desires of users effectively by allowing internet protocol television to output a received communication message to a screen. CONSTITUTION: A communication message including identifier information of receiving side internet protocol television is transmitted to portable terminal message server(202~206). The portable terminal message server relays the communication message to internet broadcasting service server(208). The received communication message is transferred to the receiving internet protocol television(212). The receiving side internet protocol TV processes the communication message(214).
